The Mini Interview that Never Got Aired

Personal Stories

What a bummer! I was approached by a local website recently, asking if I, as a local entrepreneur, would like to answer some quick interview questions about my tips on what to do in Singapore. Of course I agreed, but my oh my, the interview never got published on their site!

What a waste, right? Well, since they didn't publish it, I figured I could still share it on this blog. So here you go, some really quick snippets on my best kept secrets in Singapore!

- Favourite Food Haunts
My home, really. My partner and I love to cook and it's also healthier. We get to decide what really goes into our bodies and what suits our mood for the day/evening. But if you're talking about great, affordable steak frites in an authentic French ambience, I highly recommend Les Bouchons!

- Best Kept Secrets in Singapore
The Projector for indie films, Mustafa for a night of bargain shopping (where you can find literally anything under the sun), Lazarus Island for a secluded beach getaway, Burger Joint for burgers in a hidden location and Binomio for Spanish tapas.

- What Activities Do You Do / Spots Do You Go To When You Need Some Down Time
I really love beaches, so a quiet Sunday evening on Palawan Beach in Sentosa (it's easier to get to than Lazarus Island) to watch the sunset is perfect. I've recently gotten to like Ultimate as well, so we do some throws on the sand in between beer, hors d’oeuvre and my home-made aglio olio.

- Best Annual Events Happening On The Island
In March, we always make it a point to dine at one of the restaurants participating in the Singapore Restaurant Week. The light installations on the facades of our museums during the Singapore Night Festival is also such a treat every August. If you are in town, check out some of the outdoor cinema events during the year - it's better than watching the same films indoors.
